My friend Helly suggested I did a blog about my adventures whilst I was out there. So I figured I'd just start now, so I get used to blogging before I go transatlantic. I have a Tumblr, but that's not quite the same, and, well that, like Instagram is mainly used for swooning at Boys with beards, awesome cars and many other things which make me go weak at the knees.God bless you social media.
So yes. Canada. Why am I going? Well. Since I was around 14 I have always had penpals. It dropped of for a few years in between, but in my late 20s I found a great penpalling site called www.interpals.net which is kinda just like facebook for penpalling.I did the usual thing of looking through peoples profiles to see what interests we had in common and I came across a rad gal called Sunshine.
I couldn't tell you exactly what made me contact her. But I am so glad that I did. Sunshine has inspired me in so many ways. Because of her I now make hairflowers. http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/RnRtreats because she sent me some flowers. She is far more creative than I am, but I'm hoping to learn from her when I visit her in April!
Sunshine lives in Edmonton. This is going to be my second destination in Canada. I'm flying out from Heathrow, to Amsterdam then to Vancouver (the flights were cheaper when not direct). There I will meet another penpal called Angela.
I'm hoping to take her to see some Hockey amongst other things.
I'm getting the train between Vancouver and Edmonton which takes like a day! But its a 1955 train. How rad is that??
So. The excitement is growing. 66 days. I keep on looking for rad stuff to do when I'm there. Any suggestions are gratefully received!
